Frequently asked questions
LexFlo answers the calls your firm forwards to it, day or night, takes the caller's details, marks urgent matters for the attorney and books the consultation. These are the questions firms ask before they sign.
Questions
Is LexFlo HIPAA compliant?
LexFlo is not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate for plaintiff-side intake, and we don't sign BAAs today.
Do I have to change my phone number?
No. Forward your office line to LexFlo — all calls, or only the ones you miss. Or take a new local number.
Does it give legal advice?
Never. It takes the caller’s details, flags urgency and books the consult. Merits, fees and deadlines go to you.
How fast can I be live?
Send the setup form and you’re live within 2 business days.
Do callers know it’s automated?
Yes. Every call opens with your firm’s name and a recording notice, and Sara answers honestly if asked.
Does it work with my practice area?
Criminal defense, immigration, family, personal injury and more. You tell us what you take and what you don’t.
What does LexFlo cost?
$199 a month with 300 call minutes included, then $0.35 a minute, up to a monthly cap you set. No setup fee. 14 days free, then $199/mo · cancel anytime before day 15 · missed calls only.
Does the receptionist speak Spanish?
Yes. It speaks English and switches to Spanish for the rest of the call if the caller speaks Spanish or asks for it.
What makes a call urgent?
A call is marked urgent when someone is in jail or detention right now (ICE detention counts), was arrested today, has a court date within 48 hours, or the caller says it is an emergency. The attorney's email for that call is marked URGENT.
Which calls go to the office instead of being booked?
For firms using our guarded booking setup, callers whose details don't match the contact on file are referred to the office for scheduling. Changes to an existing consultation, callers using someone else's phone, and matters the firm doesn't take go to the office.
Can it move an existing consultation?
No. Changes to an existing consultation go to the office, which calls the caller to confirm.
What do I get after each call?
An email with the summary, the transcript and the caller's details. Booked consultations appear on your calendar, and the caller gets a separate confirmation.
Who sees my callers' information?
Your firm's attorney email and your firm's LexFlo account. Our security page explains how data is separated and encrypted.
